About Cardholder911
Cardholder911 was conceived by Merchant911 Director Tom Mahoney. Merchant911 went on line in January of 2001 to teach E-commerce merchants how to protect themselves against credit card fraud. That site has evolved to a site about E-commerce issues in general although we still focus on fraud prevention. Cardholder911 seemed like a natural extension of the merchant site.
Although there are no statistics, at Merchant911 we believe that for every card account that is stolen and then used, it will be used on three or four web sites before the bad guys abandon the information. That leads us to believe that by helping cardholders prevent their cards from being used fraudulently, we’ll also be helping merchants. It’s a win-win for all of us.
As the site grows, you will find proven methods to help keep your card information safe. We’ll also give you tips on how to shop on line and help you find on-line merchants that we know will do their best to protect your information. We know this because we know that they use best practices to protect themselves.
The blog will provide you with timely information related to credit cards, interest rates, and all the other things that you need to know about credit cards.
